The KPC 9612 TNC is being used to implement telemetry-capable, PARADIGM-compliant digipeaters in Western Australia.
Here's the configuration template being used to program them.
Note that using WAn-N in your path will produce the same results as WIDE used to do without tracing.
The new PARADIGM configuration means that WIDE now performs the same function as TRACE used to, and that the digi's no longer respond to TRACE at all.
Recommended paths are now:
Home stations VIA WIDE2-2
Mobile stations VIA WIDE1-1, WIDE2-2
Special Events VIA WIDE1-1,WAn-N
Home stations should digipeat the alias of WIDE1-1 this is the same as the old RELAY.

WARG Telemetry update
Ive got my hands on some CSLA2CF hall effect current sensors.
They look to be ideal for the job we want them to do, onsite power monitoring
These are a three pin device with the following characteristics:
Vs 6-12
Is 20mA max
I(sensed) 125A max
Voffset Vcc/2
Sensitivity 19.6mV/NI @ 8VDC
temp offset 0.02% / degC
I believe this means that with a supply voltage of 12V and the wire passing through the toroid without a turn (ie N=1) a current of 0A will produce an output of 6V
a current of 5A will produce 6V+5x19.6mV =6.098V.
Our KPC9612+ telemetry channels want a 0-5V reading
That pretty much sums up the interfacing requirements. looks like our 2:1 voltage divider will come into play again.
I'll be posting some pix and diagrams soon. stay tuned!

VK6 APRS Frequencies and Path settings
We are working on making the "paradigm" system standard here in Western Australia.
We recommend
via WIDE1-1,WIDE2-1
for 145.175 MHz. This gives you two hops to VK6HGR's igate in Beechboro.
If you are on 145.825 MHz the best path is
via ARISS,SGATE
myself and VK6HGR are currently running sgates
if you are doing HF aprs at 300baud the frequency to use is 10.1476 MHz USB and the path is
via GATE
VK6UZ is running a HFGATE in Bedfordale

Welcome to the home of APRS in Perth
Welcome to the VK6FUN APRS blog.
This website is intended to become a home for information about how to get the most from APRS here in Western Australia.
We'll be discussing mainly projects and ideas speciifically related to VK6
Post your comments flames suggestions plugs, rants etc here, as long as it's on topic and not personal.
cheers
